About

The Rugby Portobello Trust: enriching lives and expanding horizons for children and young people in North Kensington and beyond.

The Rugby Portobello Trust runs free programmes on and off-site 6 days per week, 45 weeks of the year, up to 10 hours per day. We support the most at-risk and vulnerable children, young people and mothers in our community, giving them the support and structure needed to build the skills and confidence to live fulfilling lives as engaged members of their community. We work with more than 1,300 children, young people and isolated mums every year.

We have a small team of about 25 staff who are supported by an incredible team of 212 volunteers, who are recipients of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services for their exceptional commitment to supporting their community.

We are more than 85% funded through donations, small grants and events like our Christmas Market, which allows us adapt our services as and when needed to best suit the changing needs of the people we support.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Rugby Portobello Trust needs your support to keep our services running at full capacity and to give us the flexibility to adapt our programmes to best suit the changing needs of the children, young people and mums of North Kensington.

2020 has been an exceptional year, presenting challenges and pressures that we haven’t experienced since the fire at Grenfell Tower. We’re facing deficits across all of our programmes while the demand for our support has increased.

Funds raised through our 2020 Christmas Market will support our programmes over the next 12 months, helping us to expand and develop our programmes to reach even more young people who need our support.
